Professional Mode vs. Partner Mode
Understand the difference between Professional Mode and Partner Mode in Chik. Learn how to toggle views to manage your business or provide a distraction-free dashboard for clients.

Chik is built to be a powerful workspace for you, but an incredibly simple, frictionless portal for your clients. To achieve this balance, we offer two distinct viewing modes. Anyone can switch between these modes at any time with a simple button click from their Profile Settings.
Here is exactly how they differ.
Professional Mode (For You)
This is the full Chik experience. When you are in Professional Mode, you have access to every tool you need to run your freelance business or agency.
- Full Navigation: You can access all pages, including Time Tracking, Contracts, Notes, and Billing.
- Admin Controls: You will see options to upgrade to Chik+, manage your team, and adjust workspace settings.
Partner Mode (For Your Clients)
This mode is designed to eliminate confusion and onboarding friction for your clients. It provides a beautifully simplified view so they know exactly what to do the second they log in.
- Laser Focus: Partner Mode hides all pages except the main Tasks dashboard. They see the exact same task details and comments that you do, but without the clutter of your other business tools.
- Zero Distractions: All Chik+ upgrade prompts and billing settings are completely hidden.
Why should a Freelancer use the toggle?
You don't have to be a client to use Partner Mode! Before you invite a new client to collaborate on a task, simply toggle yourself into Partner Mode. This allows you to preview your dashboard through their eyes, ensuring everything looks perfectly polished and professional before you send the invite.
